You might know about the screen recording in Android 4.4 KitKat is available when it was released, which is pretty hard task to do in stock ROM as you need to be connected to a computer to do so. But if you are thinking to record right from your phone then you might want to switch to CyanogenMod 11 nightlies or later version in your phone.
If you already running CM 11 or later then head to Google Play Store and install the CyanogenMod Screencast app (which is still beta mode), and to perform a screen recording simply hold the volume up and power button at the same time (Check the video above if you are not sure), it is simple as it same like taking a screenshot of your screen but the only thing is you have to press volume up button instead of volume down. The screencast doesn’t let you cast the video to other displays available such as Chromecast, although we will see such feature in future and we will keep you updated about it.
In order to install the app follow the steps below;
- You must be running CM 11 or later version
- Join CyanogenMod Community
- Head to play store and become the tester
